The Redondo Beach Dog Park is located at the northern end of Dominguez Park. The facility consists of a turfed and fenced three-acre dog run, including separate areas for large and small dogs. Amenities include benches and drinking fountains for both dogs and their humans. The park is open dawn until dusk everyday except Wednesdays, when it is closed until noon for maintenance.
The “Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park, Inc.” is a non-profit 501c(3) California corporation that funded solely by the generous donations of it’s patrons. All members of the Board of Directors of the “Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park, Inc. are volunteers and are not compensated.
“Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park” is dedicated to preserving and expanding safe, responsible, off-leash access for dogs. ‘Friends’ works with the city of Redondo Beach to develop and maintain a safe, off-leash recreation area.
We organize and sponsor park activities and are strong advocates of responsible dog ownership. All of our work is done by volunteers and our elected board members.
The Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park hold their monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. The meetings are at 320 Knob Hill and are open to the public. The meetings start at 7:00 PM
The purpose of the “Friends” is to raise funds and oversee the day-to-day management of the park. Since the Redondo Beach City Council approved the creation of a dog park in 1992, park patrons have donated over $70,000. These funds went to cleaning up the site (formerly a trash area), adding top soil, grass, sprinklers, fences, benches, water, etc.
Our ongoing goal is to expand usage of the dog park to become a place to offer services and to bring people together. Since 1992, literally thousands of dogs (and owners) have enjoyed the park.
